AI & Data Engineer
Role at a Glance
You build the data backbone – pipelines, validation, and ML‑ready datasets. You own the data layer for a compliant, scalable healthcare AI platform.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced AI & Data Engineer to join our technical team. You will handle the data infrastructure of a platform currently in active development, designing and building the pipelines, quality systems and structured data outputs. This is a hands-on, end-to-end data engineering role. You will work closely with the Lead Developer and take full ownership of the data layer as the platform scales on.
What You Will Be Doing
Data Pipeline Engineering
- Design and build production-grade data ingestion pipelines handling multiple file formats and data types
- Implement data validation, schema enforcement and pre-processing logic for structured and unstructured inputs
- Build clean, reliable data export pipelines delivering structured outputs to end clients in agreed formats
- Maintain dataset versioning, lineage tracking and audit-ready data provenance
- Enforce data isolation and access controls at the pipeline level
AI & ML Data Infrastructure
- Build data pipelines supporting human feedback collection workflows, including structuring preference data for reward model training
- Export datasets in ML-ready formats compatible with the HuggingFace ecosystem (JSONL, Parquet, preference pairs)
- Implement quality measurement systems including inter-annotator agreement (IAA) scoring and annotation accuracy tracking
- Embed automated quality benchmarking mechanisms into data workflows
Analytics & Reporting Data Layer
- Build aggregated data pipelines feeding operational analytics dashboards
- Implement workforce and productivity reporting data pipelines
- Support custom reporting infrastructure for internal and client-facing outputs
Compliance & Scale
- Ensure all data handling pipelines meet HIPAA and GDPR compliance requirements
- Build audit trail data processing and compliance reporting infrastructure
- Implement specialised medical data processing (including DICOM format) as the platform expands
- Design data residency controls supporting geographic data routing requirements
- Monitor pipeline performance and reliability as data volumes scale
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, ML data infrastructure, or a closely related role
- Experience with pipeline orchestration frameworks such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or equivalent
- Comfortable with common data formats: JSON, CSV, JSONL, Parquet, XML
- Hands-on experience with cloud storage platforms (AWS S3, GCS, or Azure Blob)
- Familiarity with data validation tools (Great Expectations or equivalent)
- Experience with dataset versioning and lineage tracking (DVC or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of data privacy principles (HIPAA and/or GDPR)
- Ability to work independently and own a technical domain from design to production
Preferred
- Experience structuring human feedback or preference data for RLHF / LLM training pipelines
- Familiarity with the HuggingFace data ecosystem and ML training data formats
- Experience with medical data formats, particularly DICOM
- Prior work in a data annotation, AI training data, or health-tech environment
- Understanding of inter-annotator agreement (IAA) metrics and annotation quality measurement
- Experience with Pandas, Polars, or similar data processing libraries

UI/UX Developer
Role at a Glance
You shape the user experience – from wireframes to design systems. You own the interface layer for all user portals (clients, annotators, admins) on a mission-driven platform.
Role Overview
We are looking for a UI/UX Developer to join our technical team and take ownership of the user experience across SCI’s digital products. You will be responsible for translating business requirements and user workflows into intuitive, production-grade interfaces. This role combines user experience design and interface design to ensure the platform remains professional, efficient, and easy to use for all relevant user profiles. This is a hands-on role working closely with the Lead Developer throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and wireframing through to deployment and iteration.
What You Will Be Doing
User Experience Design
- Design user journeys, workflows, and information architecture across all platform modules
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface designs
- Conduct usability reviews and continuously improve platform usability
- Design experiences that support complex workflows while remaining intuitive for non-technical users
- Ensure accessibility and consistency across all user-facing interfaces
Interface Design & Design Systems
- Develop and maintain a consistent visual design system aligned with SCI branding
- Create reusable UI components and interaction patterns
- Design dashboards, data-heavy workflows, reporting interfaces, and administrative tools
- Maintain visual consistency across client, annotator, QA, and admin portals
- Design responsive interfaces for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
Product & Platform Experience
- Design onboarding flows for clients, annotators, QA reviewers, and administrators
- Create project submission, task management, QA review, analytics, and reporting interfaces
- Design secure workflows involving authentication, permissions, and sensitive healthcare data
- Support future expansion into AI evaluation, RLHF workflows, and advanced analytics tooling
- Participate in product planning and feature prioritization discussions
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in UI/UX design, product design, interaction design, or a closely related role
- Strong portfolio demonstrating web applications, SaaS platforms, workflow systems, dashboards, or enterprise software interfaces
- Experience conducting user journey mapping, workflow design, information architecture, and usability analysis
- Proficiency in Figma and modern design and prototyping tools
- Experience creating wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
- Strong understanding of usability, accessibility, responsive design, and human-centered design principles
- Experience developing and maintaining design systems and reusable component libraries
- Ability to translate complex business processes into intuitive user experiences
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the platform’s user experience from concept through delivery
Preferred
- Experience designing SaaS products, healthcare platforms, education platforms, or enterprise applications
- Experience designing multi-role systems with different user journeys and permissions
- Familiarity with analytics dashboards, reporting systems, and data-intensive interfaces
- Basic frontend development knowledge using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Next.js, or similar technologies
- Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams and contributing to frontend implementation discussions
- Experience working in fast-moving product environments
- Familiarity with design handoff processes and developer collaboration workflows
- Understanding of AI, data annotation, or human-in-the-loop workflow platforms
