Client FAQ
Frequently asked questions about working with SCILabel — from timelines to quality guarantees.
How quickly can you start a project?
After a scoping call and proposal sign-off, most projects begin within 5–10 business days. Rush timelines can be arranged for an expedited fee.
Do you sign Business Associate Agreements (BAAs)?
Yes. We offer BAAs to all US healthcare clients handling PHI. BAA is included in our Enterprise plan; available as an add-on for Professional clients.
How do you guarantee annotation quality?
Every project goes through three independent QA tiers, IAA scoring, and hidden gold-standard benchmark tasks. You receive a quality report with every deliverable.
What formats do you deliver in?
COCO JSON, PASCAL VOC XML, CONLL, BRAT, HL7 FHIR R4, CSV, and custom formats on request. See Appendix B of our Platform Specification for the full format reference.
Can I request revisions?
Yes. If delivered work does not meet the agreed annotation guidelines, we will revise at no additional cost within the scope of the original brief.
Tasker FAQ
Frequently asked questions about joining SCILabel as a clinical Tasker — from qualifications to earnings.
Do I need to be currently practising?
You need a verified healthcare qualification. Currently registered practitioners are preferred, but recently retired or paused clinicians with current qualifications are also eligible.
How much can I earn?
Earnings depend on your specialty, task type, and level. Medical image annotation starts at $0.50–$2.50 per image. RLHF evaluation pairs start at $0.75–$2.00. Gold-level Taskers earn 25% more across all task types.
When and how am I paid?
Payment is made within 14 days of task approval. We pay via M-Pesa, bank transfer, or PayPal — in local currency where supported.
How much time does the training take?
The certification programme is 5 days. After certification, you choose when and how much to work — there is no minimum hours commitment.
